A retired lecturer, stage director, and designer at Hull University, Robert Cheesmond has worked with a wide variety of forms and materials, especially marine flotsam and jetsam. He now works with reclaimed slates, quarried slate, acrylics, and other media (driftwood, shells, pebbles etc.) giving each previously purely functional piece a new life as art.
Robert's favourite subjects are seascapes, Vikings, Arthurian mythology, and exotic flower forms. He also invites commissions to paint portraits, pets, landscapes, and more.
