‘Snowdrop’ Exhibition at Fawley House

When: 19th Feb 2016

Calling All Artists

We have the garden open for snowdrops on Friday 19th February 2016 and I would very much like to invite you to exhibit in Fawley House Snowdrop Exhibition.

This time I would like to ask for £4 to exhibit (the cost of entry into the garden, which of course you will be welcome to see), and this will go straight to NGS. I will not ask for a donation from works sold, unless of course you would like to donate, that will be up to you!

No-one will be curating the exhibition in the conservatory and cottage tea room, and it will be up to you to hang (please bring your own white nylon string), label and price your work. I will provide a bag of tags for you to fill in, so it all looks uniform.

I will require a list of your works and prices, with your name, telephone number and email at the top of an A4 piece of paper, so I can have this at the garden entry point where artwork monies will be collected. Work will be allowed to be taken if purchased at the end of the afternoon 3.30pm.

The exhibition will not be manned (unless anyone would like to volunteer), and the artwork will be displayed at your own risk.

I would like to suggest that work is bought and put in place on Monday 15th Feb between 10 and 3pm. I have a hectic week as it is the NGS garden openers get together on the Sunday 21st in the afternoon following the open day, and so lots to prepare for.

If everyone would be happy to leave work up for NGS garden openers to see on the Sunday, all the better (further chance of sales). If artists are able to collect work at 5pm (not before) on Sunday 21st or Monday 22nd between 10am and 3pm, that would be great.

I look forward to hearing from anyone who may be interested in the February exhibition, and please tell anyone who you feel may be interested.

  • If snowdrops are not for you, then Rose Horsepool of East Riding Artists will be collecting garden works from the GS gardens done in 2015, and possibly some other garden related work, for the ‘Art in the Garden’ exhibition, which will be held at Fawley House on 22nd, 23rd, and 24th July 2016.
